Can you do clickbait on forums? I think this title is the closest I'm gonna get to doing clickbait on forums.
Anyway, I've heard a lot of people voice complaints that YouTube isn't any good nowadays. These are entirely valid feelings - ads have just gotten worse and worse, and it feels like every day they find a new way to make the platform more hostile to human existence. Maybe my good experience is due in part to my Premium subscription, something which is dubious in and of itself because I got a free trial and TRIED to cancel it, but it just mysteriously came back, and now I can't deal with ads anymore so I just gave up and kept it.
But something that I can tell you has nothing to do with my subscription is my insane luck with interesting recommendations that makes me feel like I've mastered the algorithm. I have no idea how I achieved this! I also have no idea how I would help other people achieve it. So I'm going to do the next best thing and just post interesting videos that I find. I'll spoiler them for an immense amount of video embeds, but hopefully you'll enjoy.
I Made "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado Without Hearing It (w/ Sophie Truax) by Dev Limes
We're gonna start off STRONG with a video that got two different people shinies on a voice call. This series is already insane - anyone else like their niche comedy videos to have a B plot? - and this video is no exception. If you've never watched these before, I need to just let you experience it for yourself. Words truly cannot do it justice. This one comment that called a specific timestamp "petscop music" is living rent free in my mind.
I Made A Pokémon Quiz. It Tricked Everyone. by Nokimon
Another classic series, Nokimon's shiny quizzes are always extremely fun. I always experience the difficult curve not as Easy -> Medium -> Hard -> Master, but as Easy -> Easy -> Easy -> Impossible. This video has some good bamboozlers in it, and I love the banter between Mimik and Tos. Especially when one or both of them is so OBVIOUSLY wrong.
Pokemon Revealed a Generation Early by Professor AlphaLax
I just like these types of videos on gaming history, especially when they point out instances in which the official material got it wrong. The legacy of Pokemon that were revealed early is always a fun topic to me.
A single shot can ruin your childhood by Lancelloti
This video made me appreciate Monster House more than I already did. The random long silence at the end caught me off-guard, though.
How to Ruin Cycling Road in Pokemon Red/Blue by Pikasprey Yellow
I think that Jigsaw is real, and his name is Pikasprey. That is all.
How a Traffic Light Fan Broke Super Mario Galaxy Speedrunning by Tibs
I don't think I can adequately prepare you for this one either. Speedrunning videos are always a trip, especially if you've never looked into the scene for a specific game before, but this one throws you for a loop. Literally. You'll see.
I'll post more interesting videos as I find them! I have a disgustingly long Watch Later that just keeps getting longer as I get recommended more and more interesting videos. We'll get to the bottom of this pile... together!
