Soooo. I never finished Pokemon Violet.
I sunk like. 100+ hours into that game and never completed any of the main story lines, let alone the overarching plot of the game. What was I doing that whole time you might ask? Heh. Totk simulator: This time with little guys you can capture in balls. Why battle 8 gyms and 8 evil team leaders when you can turn your pokemon game into a resource management simulator with CRAFTING and GRINDING. Thats living the life of luxury, baby, we're a decade into the 3D era and with it comes bethesta levels of getting yourself off track.
Now, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my time playing pokemon like an MMO. However, it leaves me with an issue coming back into the game almost a year later.
I have no idea whats going on.
If I did, I probably would just finish the game and unlock access to all the fun shiny hunting tools that the game ended up giving us this generation. But instead I just deleted the file.
Going into pokemon Violet, I want to set up a few rules for myself. This isn't a challenge run or anything of the kind persay, but I want to force myself to stop and actually explore the game rather than just blazing my way through this file. As such, there are three things I'm going to be looking to accomplish.
1) Catch all avalible pokemon in the area before moving onto the next area.
This is the one thing I'm going to be using a guide for, moving forward. I'm not going to use a guide for gym or enemy trainer levels, but I want to make sure I don't miss any pokemon in my hunt for all of them on my way through the region.
(I will also be allowing myself to use a guide, or at least ask questions as how certain pokemon evolve, because I know there are just some absolutely bullshit pokemon evolution meathods in this game. But I'm going to be trying my hardest to find it out on my own first)
2) Catch the earliest possible stage in a pokemon's evolution line, where possible.
This isn't like, a hard and fast rule for me, if only because I am not entirely knowledgable on the evolutionary lines of each pokemon. But I'm going to be making an attempt to raise each pokemon from their youngest stage.
3) Try and use only new pokemon for the main story and team.
I'm going to be raising Every possible pokemon in game, but for the main story I want to focus on strictly new ones. And - To be fair, I'm using "new" in a very loose way. This is New For Me standards.
I'll give myself a few allowances here. I'm sure there are a few pokemon I'm going to get attached to, and I cannot deny myself my heart when I fall in love with a png on the screen. But overall, I want to try and both use a variety of pokemon and use pokemon that I've never used before.

This won't be a screenshot walk through, as I unfortunately do not have access to a capture card, or anything fancy like that. However, I will make this text as pretty as possible with sprites from bulbapedia and interesting looking formatting. Hopefully, you enjoy watching me play this game as much as I will enjoy playing it o7
